Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 4, 2026

DistrictView is an Android civic boundary reference app built by Eduardo Conde ("we," "us"). This policy explains what information the DistrictView app and this website handle, why, and the choices you have.

The short version

Information the app collects

This website

This site is a static page. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and stores no form submissions. The contact forms open a prefilled email in your own email app; the message is sent by you, to us, through your email provider.

How we use information

We use the information above to manage licenses, respond to support and licensing requests, fix crashes, and improve the app. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for advertising.

Sharing

Personal information is shared only with the service providers that make the app work: Google (Firebase crash reporting and analytics, the infrastructure hosting our license server, and device geocoding). In DistrictView Web, address search text is also shared with komoot GmbH (Photon address suggestions), the U.S. Census Bureau (address matching), and Esri (reverse geocoding), as described above. We do not share personal information with anyone else unless required by law.

Retention and deletion

License records are kept while your license is active. To request access to or deletion of your information (including your license record), email DistrictViewApp@eduardoconde.com. Crash and analytics data retention is governed by Google Firebase's settings and policies.

Security

The app communicates with our license server over HTTPS, and license data on your device is stored encrypted using the Android Keystore.

Children

DistrictView is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
